Rugeley is a historic market town in Staffordshire, situated between the towns of Stafford, Cannock, Lichfield and Uttoxeter. Rugeley has two railway stations and a regular hourly service to London via Lichfield, Nuneaton, Rugby, Milton Keynes and to Crewe via Stafford and Stoke on Trent. The major roads into Rugeley are the A460 from Cannock and the A51 Lichfield to Stone.
In August 2011 Amazon opened a 700,000 sq.ft. fulfilment centre on Towers Park creating approximately 900 jobs as well as generating a large pool of seasonal work around Christmas; bringing in daily heavy trade.
