Although this is a profit-making business there is scope for development by looking at the following options.

• Extend the grocery line
• Sell pies, pastries, scotch eggs etc.
• Outside catering – our client used to do some outside catering but gave this up a few years ago.
• Take card payments – this is a cash only business and some custom has been lost.
• Utilise a website. There is a suspended website with the domain name www.ashbysbutchers.co.uk, which needs to be re-introduced to enhance sales.
• Grow the stock to introduce more meats etc
• Employ another member of staff to help with demand.
