Description

Hilton Smythe are proud to present to the market Bakers Dozen.

The thriving sandwich shop is well known for their fresh to order sandwiches which can be made hot or cold with a selection of delicious fillings to be eaten in or taken away. The bakery also serves jacket potatoes, cakes, wraps, burgers, omelettes, pies, pastries, crisps, hot and cold drinks, soup and toasties. The well-loved local bakery has been established for over 25 years and our clients have owned it for just over half of that time but now have reluctantly decided to sell due to a well-earned retirement.

The business is currently generating a healthy turnover of £60,000 per annum and this is due to the business being local customer and tourist based but we feel as though the turnover could possibly be increased by extending opening hours to the weekend, catering and delivering to local businesses and residents and possibly launching a website so customers can keep updated with new additions to the menu.

This is an excellent opportunity for a new owner to take this already thriving business to the next level; therefore early viewing must come highly recommended to avoid disappointment.

Location

Baker’s Dozen is located in Garstang near Preston, Lancashire.

The well-known bakery is situated in the lovely old market town of Garstang which is a very prominent position on a very busy high street that is directly in the middle of the quaint town centre which is a prime location as it is on the busy town square. The town has a very high footfall and passing trade due to local residents and tourists visiting the thriving businesses that are in the area.

The current population of the town is 4,268 people. Garstang is also known for being the world’s first ever fairtrade town. Baker’s Dozen is in striking distance of Lake District, Ribble Valley, Trough of Bowland , Yorkshire Dales and Lancashire coastal towns and there is also a Festival every late May bank holiday which attracts more tourists and trade to the area.

The nearest bus stop from the business is just a short walk of the main high street. The nearest railway station which is about a half an hour drive away from the business.

Premises

The business premise is bay fronted and has good clear signage of the company name and this makes the business noticeable in the busy town centre square.

The business is fitted with a lovely large customer area which has 2 sets of tables and stools for the option to the customers to stay in the property to eat. The business walls are filled with chalkboards that display deals of the day, most popular food and hot and cold options. There is a large serving counter that currently displays fillings for sandwiches and cakes.

To the rear of the business is a preparation area and there is also a kitchen behind which is fully equipped. There is also a second preparation room that I fitted with a double stainless steel sink with drainer and a single hand sink. Also in the premise is a storage room with a current administration area but can we converted into something that the new owner will find useful. There is also a rear entrance to the business.
